Stock 305tpi to 327ci 375hp carb HELP

I'm about to get myself into a motor swap on my 87 Iroc-z. It has the stock 305 and im going to a 327ci out of a 1969 corvette fully built motor running 375hp. It has been sitting in. What is involved with switching from a TPI setup to Carburator? any advise is helpful

bought it last week from the original owner 47k miles....grabbed it for $2,000 the guy was moving out of state and couldnt bring it.

Swapping to a carb and that engine would be stepping backwards.

Actually, I am in the process of finishing this swap as we speak. I got rid of the computer controlled carb. Everything lines up no worries there. I believe your gonna use the stock computer as your carb is electronically controlled. From what i experienced it should be relatively simple. Just mark all your wires.

Actually, the OP has TPI, not computer carb.

You paid $2k for a 327? That's complete numbers-matching collector prices, and from the pic, that ain't no complete numbers-matching set-up. To say nothing of the fact that Chevrolet didn't put a 327 in 1969 Vettes.

Also judging by the photo (parts missing, corrosion), I would completely disassemble that engine and carefully inspect everything before running it.

Perhaps...he spent $2,000 for the car itself.

Perhaps...the 327 was not original to the '69 Vette, but it was previously in a '69 Vette.

I considered that. Well?

That is the only possibility involving a '69 Vette and that engine.

Re: Stock 305tpi to 327ci 375hp carb HELP

haha to ease the confusion, i bought the car itself for $2,000 i have a thread in the Detailing/Apearence section. My dad restored another camaro and pulled this one out to put an era correct 350 in it. The motor was running when it was taken out and he even found out who built the motor and spoke to the mechanic on everything that was done to it. It has been sitting in my garage for years just waiting for the opportunity to go into a car.

Okay, that clears up a lot.

How was this 375 HP measured? With that carb? Heads make a lot of difference, so what is on there would be good to know. 327's didn't have hardened valves or seats for unleaded gasoline.

Re: Stock 305tpi to 327ci 375hp carb HELP

it's a 327 out of a 69 vette, bored .30 over which brings it to a 331. Non stock high performance heads 194's, forged pistons, forged connecting rods, forged steel crank, 3.48 stroke, 565 cam, edelbroke aluminum intake manifold, holley 650 carb dual feed double pump.
