Convince me to put 498 back in Camaro.

I am just about to get my hyd. roller 498 back from the machine shop and am debating if i should install it in my '86 thidgen camaro or put it in a '74 corvette. The '86 already had the big block in but since have sold the hooker swap headers. I just can't let go of the idea of a big block in this '86 . The '74 is a nice one to , that would be nice to drive with the torque of this big block. I really am not sure what to do with this engine . The camaro has a 12 bolt already that was "fabricated" to take the torque arm and the vette has the "built Up" 700r4 mated to the engine and I've already bought the headers for the big block. Decisions, Decisions! Maybe I need some vids of big block camaro's to really convince me either way.

Re: Convince me to put 498 back in Camaro.

Bigblock in a Vette is pretty much a gimme.
Bigblock in a 3rd gen F body is nothing new or daring-- BUT not as common as Nova, Chevelle, etc.

If I have the headers for the Vette & don't want to fab for the 3rd gen
I would do the Vette.
If I had fab skill, I would make headers for the 3rd gen.

Now IF you where to take that engine and put into a 1800 lb tube frame Alter.........then you go for the ride of your life.I promise you once you have done that, you will never want to go back.

This time of the yr rolling chassis are selling cheap.

That's what has me worried with the vette. The 700r4 has some warranty left , so If I break it the trans builder will work with me.

Well decided to go with my '86 camaro. Just need to give her some TLC . Here's a pic of what it looks like now.

Will do. One thing I'm going to love about the "new" setup is that it will run on pump gas instead of having to buy e85 by the barrel(13.5:1 cpr) . About the third barrel I grew tired of hauling it home.
