Serpentine belt help

Greetings. I have here a 1991 Firebird Formula/base (Not really sure yet, as I'm taking over someone else's project, and I haven't done much work to it yet). I don't know if anybody recalls, but I had a thread in the electrical section where I asked for help trying to get my hatch release to pop. I didn't get it to pop, but I'll work on it once my engine is installed.

Anyways, I've been going through the parts that came with the car. This includes rebuild stock L03 305 (maybe a new stock replacement cam, but who knows), the removed bumper, hood, ground effects and what not. The engine parts however, came in three plastic tubs. I got it in long block form with no accessories on it what so ever. So I spent some time and put on the parts that it came with, just to see what I was missing.

So far I have all of the accessories, but I am missing the A/C, smog pump, idler pulley bracket. (Actually come to think of it, I don't have the A/C compressor, smog pump or belt tensioner ...) This is for an engine that, based on all the pulleys I currently have, is/was using a serpentine belt system instead of the older V-belt style.

So I went off to my local salvage yard to look for a bracket. I didn't have allot of time to scour the yard because they were closing shortly, but I did find this bracket just setting in the engine compartment of a third gen camaro that was out there. It looked like it had a custom 350 in there, but this was just setting on top of the short block that was in the compartment:

I got the bracket for cheap figuring it was close to, or exactly what I needed. So I go outside to mount it up to my engine today, and as it turns out, I have no idea if it's the right bracket, or even a bracket that goes to a serpentine belt third gen ... Maybe it's a V-belt bracket? I can't seem to figure out how it bolts up, if it is the right bracket.

I can see my system should look like so, but my bracket looks somewhat similar.

Maybe I got a V-belt bracket? I already have the bracket that holds the alternator/PS pump.

Any suggestions? Thanks for reading.

Looks like a pass. side bracket. Maybe it's from a truck or B-body? It should still bolt up but position everything incorrectly. Unless the heads are from the stone age.

Hmm I'll have to take another look. It didn't seem like it would bolt up properly.

Will this at least hold my OEM accessories? e.g, A/C compressor, AIR pump, belt tensioner?

That looks like the right bracket, I have the bracket for the Lo3 at my house in my garage, one bolt spot is broken off but I can take a picture of it for you when i get home and upload it for you to compare. The driver side one should look similar to that also just a little smaller

Actually the engine I'm trying to use is a L03, so that'll work out great. I have the driver side bracket, but it's the passenger one I don't have.

I'd really appreciate that picture Thanks

this is the view from how it goes on the block, passenger side.
sorry the text is so small, didnt realize the pic was so big.

top left is where the compressor for the ac goes
to the right of it is the tensioner pulley
and the bottom left is the smog pump

Awesome picture! I'll put it on my phone and see if the PO knows if he knows where it went.

But my bracket doesn't look anything like the bracket your'e showing me ... I know your is the right one, but my bracket looks like a V-belt, or TPI type bracket (I thought they used the same bracket though ...) I'm all kinds of confused as to what I have here. Maybe a 4th gen bracket? I think I'll pass on the one I've got ... I need the real deal.

Finding an original one for the Lo3 is really tough, When i broke that bottom bolt hole I tried to find an another one but I ended up just getting aftermarket brackets and switching to v-pulley. I would say you can have mine for the price of shipping but with that bolt hole broken I don't know if it mounts as sturdy as it should

What's actually broken on it? I know a good welder, if you think it could be welded, I might just take you up on that. Maybe a better picture of the damaged bolt hole?

It must have been the drivers side I got welded cause I couldn't find the weld marks at all. But this is the bolt hole that is broken, I guess it could be fixed but I don't know how trustworthy it would be.

Also found the tensioner pulley if you need this too.

Re: Serpentine belt help

Well I just wanted to chime in and say that I got the right bracket. I still have no clue what that other bracket I have goes to, but I have the right one now.

Thanks for everyone's responses!
