WHAT MODS DO I HAVE TO MAKE TO MY 700R4 FOR A 383
JUST WONDERING WHAT MODIFICATIONS WILL I HAVE TO DO TO MY TRANSMISSION SO I CAN HOOK UP THE 383 THANKS FOR THE HELP AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW THE PRICES YOU THINK IT WILL BE (JUST SO IT WILL WORK)

NOTHING. IT WILL BOLT UP. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT STRONGER REBUILD IT OR AT LEASE PUT IN A GOOD SHIFT KIT. YOU MIGHT BE BETTER OFF BUYING ONE THAT IS RATED FOR THE OUTPUT OF THE ENGINE. O AND WHY IS EVERYONE SHOUTING?

alright thanks ya i just have a slow carbed 305 but it still gets around

if your 383 is not pumping out a crap tone of power a larger cooler, good ATF, and a shift kit will do wonders. You can install a new servo to boost line pressure and you should be good.

A better servo will tighten up the shifts. I don't think it will change the line pressure.

and how does it make the shifts tighter or harder or faster? pressure.

No. It controls how fast the band engages the gear. Line pressure is not controlled by the servo.

ok my bad. could have clarified that. shift kit line pressure.. servo more holding pressure due to larger size. Still higher pressures... just stated incorrectly. O hell just put a T56 in it and get it over with.
