305 to 350
Hey I have a 91 305 Tbi. Im wanting to swap a 350 in for my 305 maybe with a small cam, headers, ect. What would I have to change as for my fuel system and throttle body. Would I be able to keep my Tbi system or should I change it out for something else? I know there's probably a ton of these posted I just wanted a direct answer one what I'm gonna need to look into. Thanks.

You will need larger injectors 55#hr and either a dynamic efi ebl ecm or swap out your prom with one from a caprice.

The chip and the injectors would bolth need to be changed. As depending on the number on your esc knock module that and your knock sensor will need to be changed.

No its fine, you might contact the vendor South Bay for injectors I'm not sure if they do tbi. If not check out rock auto.com , in a pinch if your low on funds you can go to a junk yard and get some off a 350 tbi truck but its a risk on how well they will work.

Re: 305 to 350
it will drop right in and use the same flex plate but do you have a picture of the cylinder heads ? Sounds like you might have a L31 vortec. If this is going to be tbi you need to upgrade the injectors to 55#hr and have the prom reprogramed. You can buy a vortec intake if this is a vortec but there not cheap the other choice is to slap a set of 083 heads or use the 305 heads if funds are tight.

Re: 305 to 350
The esc may or may not need to be replace you should list the numbers and or letters on it. The knock sensor will need to be replaced. Do a google search for images of tpi and tbi I'm not much use this weekend on dialup. The prom is program read only memory in the computer. It contains the calibration for tue timing and fueling for the engine.

Re: 305 to 350
The esc module is located on a bracket on the bulk head next to your vacuum booster. The esc Electronic Spark Control works in conjunction with the knock sensor. When a engine pre detonation is detected it will retard your ignition timing to protect the engine from damage.

Re: 305 to 350
Nothing wrong with using a bone yard esc module. The knock sensor I would rather buy a new one to insure its not to sensitive and will actually work. For Tpi atleast these are the numbers and letters that will work.
