i just bought a 350 4bolt main and i was told it is a 69 out of a truck.. the casting # is 21 GM 3970010, and the # on front passenger side by head is V0521XV.. iv tried looking it up but cant find what it came out of.. can anyone help?? i need to know the year atleast.. but any info would help

 

Okay, I'll bite - Why do you need to know?

It's an 010 block. 4" bore. Used in 327s and 350s. And some 302s. The crank will have its own #, telling you which one it is. Other than that, the year or any other detail of the engine is completely irrelevant for the purpose of building it up.

 

As said, what it "came out of", doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to what you will be doing. The block has forgot all about that now, all it cares about now is what YOU do to it.

What is it you REALLY want to know? There's ALWAYS a better way to figure that out than looking up what it came out of.

 

i know it has nothing to do with all ill be doing to it.. someones arguing w me that its a 69 350 out of a truck and im having a hard time proving it.. dunno where to look up #'s.. they are saying theres no way it's a 69..silly thing to argue over but..
