TPI into 92 RS

I have a 92 RS. I am looking to swap the TPI from a C4 vette into it. What parts from the engine bay can I reuse and what parts do I need to source. Also is it possible to swap over the digital dash? I will get pics from both cars to help aid in any questions I have and also any someone else may have.

Re: TPI into 92 RS

Your better off getting a tpi from a 87 up thirdgen.
The center intake bolt holes will need to be elongated to fit your heads. Unless your going to use the vette heads. The harness should be from a thirdgen as well or if your tbi now rework it to use the 90-92 1227730 speed density ecm.

Are you referring to using the heads off of the TBI? Which head would be better to use? What are their advantages and disadvantages.

Would it be best if I splice my Camaro harness with the vette harness?

Re: TPI into 92 RS

How much of the Vette motor do you have?

Heads off the TBI need to go IN THE GARBAGE. They have NO advantages. They're scarp iron that's been devalued by being previously melted into that shape, since now they have to be re-melted into something else to make anything worthwhile out of. Don't even use em as door stops, since unless you have REALLY BIG doors, that's overkill: best that they be destroyed and forgotten forever, preferably in some way that the material that was wasted in fabbing them originally, is returned to "the stream" and relieves the planet of having to yield up those resources AGAIN to make something useful. Boat anchors, maybe, if you have a fairly small boat in calm waters, and use a buoy to tie your boat to so you don't ever raise em to the surface but rather let em rust away to nothingness in the depths.

The Vette digital dash is notoriously finicky and unreliable. 70s technology and all that, you know. It also doesn't come ANYWHERE NEAR bolting up in your car. Like anything else, that can be overcome; but, is it "Worth It"??? a whole other question. Just because something Can Be done, doesn't automatically make it A Good Idea.

Not sure about "splice"... again, what have you ACTUALLY got access to?

Show us some photos.

I'm no expert, not a total idiot either but not familiar down to the individual wire; but lots of people here may be able to help. Drawing out ALL the facts is bound to help everybody.

What's wrong with the donor, that you have the entire drive train available? What's messed up?

Once I can get on my laptop and upload pics I will get those for you all to help with any questions I have. Nothing is wrong with the donor car. I bought it for my mom. She decided now she wants a new car so she’s nice we have kore cars than necessary I might as well use the tpi in the Camaro since it’s more of a restorative build that I wanna do. I would keep the vette yet it’s just not as complete as the Camaro. Body wise.
