Doing the swap nobody has done

I'm swapping in a GE90 to replace the tired 5.7 in the GTA. This thing is going to fly!

Re: Doing the swap nobody has done

I know it'll be a tight squeeze, but with a little modification and some welding...

I will gain some space, with the elimination of the trans and drive shaft.

That's going to take a lot of zip ties to hold it to your engine mounts! lol

I will use the stainless ties. They have more strength and will add some dress up and shine.
The only downside to the swap that I can figure, is no more burn outs. At least not the tires... vehicles to the rear though.

Re: Doing the swap nobody has done

Actually it's been done, although I think it was with an old Pratt with little or no bypass... used to be an "exhibition" feature at about every national level drag race, the car would typically run around 7 seconds at 200 mph or so. Was fairly spectacular at the line doing what it needed to do there instead of a burnout.

Then of course there's always THIS urban legend... https://www.google.com/search?q=jato+rocket+car
