Camshaft Question

I'm building up a SBC for my Firebird, and I've got the pistons and crankshaft installed, so I'm about to install the cam. Do I need to install it dry, degree it in to make sure it's correct and then take it back out, oil it up and put it back in, or can I degree in the cam when it's got oil on it?

As for the oil, I've got the camshaft manufacturer's recommended oil for the job.

Re: Camshaft Question

You can degree it with the build lube on it. Especially if you're using the lifters that will stay with the build.

Cool. Yeah, the lifters will absolutely be staying with the cam. It's a pretty mild Howard's roller cam with an ACDelco roller lifter kit.
