Oil pressure sensor
Ok got another problem. I have an 85 iroc that of course had the 305. But I am trying to put
The finishing touches on getting a 5.7 out of a newer one and I'm trying to figure out the difference in some of the wiring. Right now I see that the 85 had a single wire oil pressure sensor and the newer has a three wire connector. How do I adapt the new to the old. Thanks if you can help.

Re: Oil pressure sensor
If tpi the only is 2 wire ops and larger for gauge or idiot light. If you have a 3 wire it contains ops and control for light or gauge depending on how it’s made. You can use either one or use the stock 85 oil T and previous sender and switch.

Re: Oil pressure sensor
It is a tpi and when I looked up a oil pressure sensor for an 85 it has a single connector, just an idiot light on the dash. But when I pulled out the one on the 350 it has a three prong connector. The tap is different on the two sensors. Is there a way to use the 85 type in the new motor like a reducer or something?

Re: Oil pressure sensor
Again, it's NOT a "sen-sore". It is a SENDING UNIT for the oil pressure gauge...

Re: Oil pressure sensor
You need to use the sending units for the car. Don't worry about whatever is currently on the 350 engine (except maybe the knock sensor, if you even use them)
