I've got a carburetor in my '88 Camaro. I couldn't get the computer calibrated properly for my setup after some fairly extensive modification so I took the easy way out.

Sure you can put a carb.ed engine in a '92. just take all the wires you don't need and tuck them down the passenger side fender, don't cut any wires at all (In case you ever want to replace the original set-up). I helped a friend put a carb.ed 350 in his '91 no problems at all.
Good Luck

I dropped a carb motor into my 91. I like the power, but I miss the cold weather startup. I just need to fine tune it. Gas mileage sucks, but I guess the cam I put in doesn't help. I just feel I would get a little better mileage from fuel injection. Overall,I like it.The power is definitely there without spending all the big bucks you would need to spend on programming the computer and all the fuel injection related parts.

Did it to my 92 RS not many problems to speak of. Gas milage with my 383 is right around 20 m.p.g., fuel injection helps but an efficient engine gets good milage so build correctly and tune it right and you won't lose much. If you stick a huge cam in then you probably won't have much gas milage, I used the HotCam. Good luck and don't forget to get an inline electric pump.
