what would be needed to have my existing TPI/vortech setup work with a pair of vortec heads?

so far, not much mods have been done. just the blower, gutted cats, flowmaster, and a shift kit. for now, im looking for the best set of heads for my current setup for under 1k. helpe me!

You're going to cut it close for $1k. The Vortec base is $400, heads $450, installation parts & gaskets for the base another $100, you'll want better valve springs than the Vortecs have, then there's always the "incidentals". Don't forget shipping.

Or, instead of spending the money on the base, get alternative heads like Worlds or Corvette heads that your current base will bolt to.

I don't believe the Sportsmans are available with the '87-later intake bolt pattern (but I may be wrong about that). That's a simple mod to the center two bolt holes on each side of the intake, though. The Torquers are available in '87-later style, so they should just bolt on.

what cam would you recommend using, given my current mods including a pair of torquer heads? i see alot of people agreeing that the zz4 cam works well with a blower running low boost and a relatively mild 350. any ideas?

The power adder guys would probably be a better source of info for that.

The Sportsman II's are available with 87&up intake face, their part# 012260-1, w/1.25" single springs
part# 012260-2, w/1.437" dual springs (better choice)
