Anyone got show dates yet?

Just wondering if anyone has any info on what shows are on, where, and when? What's everyone thinking of attending?

Is there a good one anyone can recommend.I've only been to one and wasn't that impressed, though it was amusing watching blokes thinking they were Michael Knight or John Wayne.

Hi guys,

The only one I can and want to make this year is the Street Rod Nationals which always happens on the last bank holiday weekend in August. It starts on Friday and finishes on the Monday.

I agree with Eric, the SummerNats is a classic place for Caddy driving, flag flying wannabees and I nearly always get hammered and take the pee out of the line dancing

The Street Nats is far more hardcore, with a far greater variety of interesting vehicles (how about a Pro Street Aston Martin) They had Doctor & the Medics playing Saturday and a good group on Sunday. It is the only place for me this year to make a full weekend out of. I will probably make it to the day for the Classic American Nationals (don't know dates) and a couple of Run What Ya Brung's.

Rob, anychance of you making the Nats?

Cheers,
Felix

I might go to the AACI Spring Nationals, in Billing Aquadrome, Northantson April 17th OR 18th.

I'm also tempted by The Summer Nationals at Santa Pod on June 26th-28th. It would be good if Felix and Rob and a few folk were going. I think this is what some people call the Street Nats? Or is that different.

I'll also be a Crail once or twice and may go down to York or Santa Pod also.

I can totally recommend going to Santa pod and seeing both European events, the main event in May and the Finals in September.I'ts 40 quid for a whole weekend of world class drag racing inc. free camping.I personally like to see a huge Chevy Impala rocket down the quarter in 9-seconds than see some bone stock land barge sat there doing **** all! Also from what I've noticed is that most of the racecars are far better finished and detailed than some of the show cars I've seen?! I'll certainly take a look at the street nats though ZZ42,sounds a lot more fun.

Gordon,

4 problems with Crail.

1. The drag strip goes down hill
2. It's full of spotty morons who can't talk proper English driving Corsas
3. The girls are all cheap and ugly
4. The strip is going down a great big stupid hill

Santa Pod and Shakespear are far better sounding.

Felix,

If there's racing, I'll try and make it. I'm desperate for a couple of runs so that I can log some data. Still working on the tune.
