Gas struts for the bonnet ??

Hi,
Mines have completely gave up the ghost !

So where is the best place for new ones ?

Or is there any alternative ??

Another vehicle that has the same type fitted ?

Cheers,

Alan........

dont bother buying new ones,as I did ,they only last 3 years before the start sagging again.Could buy a fiber glass bonnet ,and then you can use your old ones.

For that sort of money, I dont think you can go wrong, think I paid around that? Haven't sorted out the rears yet though. Have u ever tried to balance the rear glass on your head while putting away the t-tops

I got some boot struts from this seller a few weeks back. Brilliant customer service and the price is pretty good if you ask me.

Specify the gas springs for a Trans Am - They have a bit more pressure for the slightly heavier load. Do the same for the rear. There used to be three different pressures. The highest were for the '86-87 Trans Am / GTA due to the urethane rear spoiler.

Fronts are 95051/E95051, rears are 92003 (Pro-Lift 0374952003).

Mine have lasted since April of 1996. Once I get it off the pull-down, the rear hatch will still just about knock me in the chin if I don't pay attenation.

Broom handle every time! You did well getting 3 years out of them. If you have headers I've seen them go within a year

You guys should try replacing the pop up spring as well, you know when you have to pull on the hood to get it to unlatch! $8 off of ebay, the hood, or bonnet pops up alot better, more space to get your hand under there!
