Cant Get Muffler Off, Help

Hey guys, I just put a flowmaster muffler on a few months ago, but the drivers side pipe always hits the side of the well in the trunk. So now what I have to do is take the old muffler off so that I can fit a little extension pipe in between the I-pipe and the muffler inlet. I bought a little dohickey that restores the little dent in the muffler from the clamp, but thats AFTER I get the darned muffler off. How do I get it off without having to call Meineke? Get two cars, tie the muffler to the left, tie the I-Pipe to the right and have them floor it in reverse? I'm debating that one. Any ideas? Thanks.

You could try heating the muffler with a torch and using a big lever to pry it off, i hope it works.

Use something to hole the I-Pipe in place, ie. floor jack or put some blocks inbetween the rearend and the I-Pipe, just to hold it still. Then take a rubber mallot and try to beat the muffler off. (Man that didnt sound good) A little lube and some heat wouldnt hurt. (Goodness, that either).

All right you guys, thanks. I'm gonna try not to cut anything, cuz the pipe is short as is.

I dunno if u have this tool but, but when I had the stock exuast on and I had to change my fuel pump I used a AIR chistel. It came off pretty easy, but people dont have one of those.

Another idea, when i changed mufflers , mine was crimped pretty bad so I cut two slits lengthwise along the pipe *180 across from each other, and kind of bent the two halves out from the other pipe.

Kind of hard to explain but it should work
