Any tricks to get the SLP y-pipe it fit right?
I have been messing with my SLP y-pipe trying to get it leak free at the collectors. What am I doing wrong? The collectors don't use gaskets right? I can just barely see a crack in the pipe but lots of exhaust blows out from it.

The collectors do need gaskets. I would reccomend copper or aluminum gaskets and that should eliminate the leaks.

Geez......there needs to be a parts list for the SLP install guide. I just figured it was a tight metal to metal fit like the stock manifolds.
The SLP's use the "Donut" style gaskets. YOu need to get these and isert them between the two.
They are supplied in the installation kit....if you want to spend about $80.
I also think you can get them separately.

Do you know what they are made of? I bought dount gaskets from fel-pro and they are sintered metal and they didn't conform to the flanges so there are still leaks.

you know I thought to myself yesterday when I put them on, "I wouldn't think that these things seal very well, but I guess if clamps on slip-fittings work good, when why wouldn't these things?"
