flowtech terminator muffler.

I've had experience with these mufflers, but I dont own one. They are excellent quality, very similar to a Flowmaster being fully welded with thick gauge steel. It is louder than a 80series, the Terminator is quite a loud muffler actually; but not overpowering loud.

I had that muffler on my car it was OK i plan on changing it for a flowmaster.the reason for the change is my buddy came over the house and parke his T/A next to mine and i heard his car over mine at idle and i was standing behind both the cars

Does anyone else have any input on this old subject with Flowtech mufflers?
I thought I saw the Afterburner one on the summit website, A crossflow design with 3 in. inlet and dual 2 1/2 outlets.
It is only $49.95

My friend had them on his truck...All i can say is yuck, I hated the sound...My friends 305 with stock manifolds and a Flowmaster 80 was louder then his built 350 with headers and Terminators. And I hate flows...So if I hate flowmasters, then I REALLY hate Terminators!

Re: flowtech terminator muffler.
OK, comparing anything to a flowmaster 80 series is like comparing it to an open pipe... the 80 series is louder than any straight through muffler that I've ever heard. I can hear a friend's very mild truck 350 in his camaro idling with 1-1/2" primary headers, 2.5" intermediate pipe and 80 series over my car with 1-5/8" headers, 3", no cat and a 3" ultraflow welded when I'm standing next to my car and his is 30' away (I'm pretty sure that's the case even if i'm in my car with him next to me).
That said, the flowmaster 80 series is one of the worst flowing mufflers that you can put on these cars, they flow worse than most stock mufflers.
WRT to the flowtech terminators, I haven't heard one on an f-body, but I had one on my '92 Chevy K1500. I generally liked it, it sounded good from every angle _except_ directly inline with the tailpipe, it was weird. I attributed it to the open passage through the middle of the muffler but that doesn't entirely make sense. Although it's really heavy welded construction, it did seem to rot out quicker than some mufflers that I've had (and I live in MD, not a particularly bad place for things rusting).

Re: flowtech terminator muffler.
I disagree about the Flowmaster 80 being about as loud as a straight pipe. It's really nowhere near the same volume. Now the original crossflow style Flowmaster, yeah, that's pretty loud.

They sound really good on this 3.1 v6.
These are the flowtech afterburner mufflers.
