85 iroc-z, want cat-back advice

i have an 85 iroc z, 305, TPI and i'm thinking of putting a cat back system on it. i would like people's advice on what is good and has worked for them. i want a loud, but very low tone from it(rumble). i'm thinking edelbrock, but i'd like your suggestions. thanks. Ryan.

Are the hookers really that much better than the flowmasters? Maybe the hookers flow just a tad better than the flowmasters but I dont think that matters unless you are trying to squeeze every bit of HP out of the 305. I dont think you would feel any difference in performance between the 2 systems when installed on a 305. The sound might differ but as far as performance I doubt that the hooker will give you a bunch more HP than the flowmaster. So if you are not trying to break land speed records and just want a better than stock exhaust, either system will do the job. Just my $.02

^^ That is very true. It's basically what kind of sound you want.

true, but........HOoKER IS BETTER ..lol..well from what i heard, with the flowmaster you get alot of in car noise, and i know with the hooker, you dont. plus the tips look better, and not as many people have hooker.

I have the Flowmaster American Thunder w/ 80 series muffler and I dont have a lot of in car noise. As far as the tips looking better on the hookers, that is your opinion. Some like the dual tips on each side that the hooker has & some like the single tips on each side that the flowmaster has. It's just all a matter of personal preference.

Hooker quality is great, but I still prefer the sound of my Flowmaster.
It was real quiet before I added headers and 3" cat.
Still pretty quiet at idle, but pretty damn noisy at WOT.
And I like that.
