I have almost new edelbrock headers with like 3k miles on them. my problem is that i HATE them. thay have the stupid AIR tubes welded into them, and i cant stand it. i dont have any emmisions on my car, so i odnt need these tubes. has anyone ever tried to weld them closed? i mean, i know this sounds stupid, but i really dont like them there. i dont want it to look like a cob job. i think my only option is to sell the edelbrocks and get some that dont have the damn tubes, what do you guys think?
who makes them with no tubes?

I just capped mine w/ a pipe cap I got at Home Depot like a $1 each. Same color as the headers. I don't even notice the air tubes, what's the big deal? Whatever the case I'd think it would be pretty easy to get someone to cut em down and weld what's left shut.

i dont mean to be rude by saying this, but are you kidding? i cannot understand how they dont get in your way. i mean the are RIGHT there. there is no good way to route the plug wires, they make it harder to take plugs out, you cant get the header bolts in aithout screwing around with a wrench for an hour. they are just a HUGE inconvenience. maybe yours have a different design then mine. i know there are ones out that have just a threaded hole in the header tube, but mine have the tubes come out and go into a large "collector" that has one big threaded end.

Makes the plugs harder to get out? Jesus i dont even notice mine. Routing the plug wires is easy you can get it facotry style which isnt even close to the tubes.

Maybe I'm crazy but I don't even notice them...
Of course mine are capped and therefore all of the original smog pump crap, EGR piping, etc, along with the entire airtube setup are all gone other than the tubes coming out of the headers. Is it some of that crap that is causing the problems on yours, I assume all your stuff is still present and hooked up?
