Yet another dual exhaust Idea (this may acutally work)
I was thinking of running dual pipes along either side of the driveshaft tunnel, then the pass side one would run over the axle in the stock location, and the drvs side one would run over the axle in between the panard rod assembly. Both pipes would dump into mufflers on either side of the gas tank (similar to a vette). What do you guys think?...if it would not work please state why.

Bowtiroc,
This would work. I saw a picture of this exact setup in a magazine once. It was a very very nice setup, professionally done in stainless steel.

All Natural. No Force. No Drugs. Stock Bottom End. Stock Body Panels.
Gunning for NA 11's after installing Hooker LT Headers and reducing weight.

If you removed the torque arm and relocated the panhard bar and brace, then it might work.

I really don't think that you could run a pipe between the axle and panhard rod and stay away from the gas tank. My exhaust runs under the passenger side and out the back. It looks pretty professional but the pipes are crush bent. I'll sell it to you when I take it off.

I've seen it done on fourth gens - I think Grottingham or Grottington (something like that) makes a kit - But I think the Panhard and/or Panhard bracket support rods are modified for clearance-
I think it could work with modifing the Panhard rod or the Panhard support rod maybe not necessarily both - I ran duals similar but I removed the Panhard bracket support rod altogether - there is only 9in width on both sides of the tank so muffler selection is kinda limited- definitly doable though

I still dont understand why everyone is set on putting true dual exchaust on there , car, as long as you put a good aftermarket setup on , you'll flow just as good if not better then trying to plum true duals , these cars were just not designed for that setup.

Pino, I understand what you are saying and I totally agree if the dual exhaust is not needed. I am running roughly 500hp and when talking to several different muffler companies, they said I would need either single 4.5-5in or dual 3in. Since no one offers this single setup I am forced to make my own. I know that mufflex advertises that their 4in system is good to 550hp, but that is not what the muffler manufacturers say.
