How often do you tighten Header Bolts?

I just put on a pair of Hooker Shorties on my car. And I was wondering if you guys had to tighten your headers often. Thanks

I've heard of some people saying you should get locking header bolts because they always loosen up but I've never had a problem. I tightened mine after a couple weeks of driving and have never had them loosen up in 2 years. I check them every couple of months just in case but mine have never loosened after the initial break in period.

So I should wait a while and see if my bolts are just being broken in. What a good break in procedure. Just drive it for a day and tighten them up again?

And if i have to keep tightening them for a week, would it just be a good idea to get the locking header bolts. Thanks.

My car is at the shop since I didn't have time to do the instal. He just finished it and let it run for a while. He said the bolts needed about a quarter turn after that. The install took him about 15 hours but I have true duals with it so he had to make new pipes for the hookup. I have the Hooker shorties w/o AIR. He said me from jsut revving the engine that it's response is incredible. I will report back when I get the car back.

oh yeah, he said the driver side just went in from the bottom but he had to tilt the motor to get the passenger side in.

I put SCE Copper gaskets w/ the Stage 8 lock bolts and I just tighten them once after installing the headers and driving maybe 100 miles. Never had to tighten them again after that.

I recomend that you tighten them pretty often or at least check them because i just found out that i had two header bolts about to come out (they were hand loose). So make sure that you check them. I have headman headers but that shouldnt make any diffrence.
