Exhaust questions
I have about 2 random exhaust questions.
1) i want to put a stright pipe hrough my cat to help make my car louder, but where can i get a cheap 3" cat? and how do i weld the pipe inside the cat???
2) i want to get hooker super comps 2055's the sorties but they are for TPI only i have a carb whats the difference in the headers to make it TPI only? can i still use them?
thanks... for the help...

1. no need to buy a new cat to shove a pipe through, just use the one you have now even if it is shot. All you have to do is get a 3" pipe jam it through the cat but make sure the pipe extends out both sides a little bit and weld it back onto your exhaust.
2. i believe those will work on carbs there shouldn't be any difference between the two but i am not positive. mark i'm sure will be able to help you out in that category

Yes, the 2055s will work on carbs, virtually all things that fit a SBC will fit a SBC , lol.
only difference, is the stock size of the cat, the 2055s come with a 3'' y pipe.

1. You can take off the heast shields off the cat and then weld them onto the peice of pipe.
2. The 2055's will fit on any sbc in a thirdgen.

ah i didn't know you had a 2 1/4" cat, thought it was 3" with the talk about getting a catback. you'll have to get the appropriate piping diameter based on your cat and the rest of the catback exhaust.
