Direct Replacement Dual Cats?

The dual cats have went bad on my '90 GTA. I would like to find a direct replacement for the cats from the manifolds back. Would like to just drop the current system and bolt in a new replacement. Problem is I have yet to find a direct replacement for the dual cat system other than a factory replacement....which is close to $800. Can anyone help with the name of any direct replacement dual cat systems?

So what you want is a whole new exhaust system basically, including headers, y-pipe and dual cats? You can piece this together for probably less than that and should see some performance gains. Just start reading through these posts, there is plenty of header threads and cats as well. Some headers come with pipes to the cats, and some don't.
Otherwise you could look through the classifieds or wrecking yards and try to find some stock parts in there. This summer I will have all the stock pieces including dual cats off an L98, but your pry looking for something sooner.

Mo...
Not looking for headers. Just for the exhaust pipes(2) from the manifolds which go to the cats, the dual cats, and the Y off the rear of the cats. The stock system is all welded together including the exhaust pipes, cats and rear Y. The Y connection (welded) on the rear of the cats connects to the stock 3 inch pipe (V-clamp) which then connects to the muffler. I have spent considerable time looking through the site and searching the web but have not come up with a direct replacement. Anyone?

I've never found a direct replacement other than the $800ish one either. I ended up just cutting out the old cats, and having new ones welded in. The other annoying thing is trying to find a cat back system for these. Seems the only place that makes on is Flowmaster, and I really don't like the sound of their stuff.

I haven't found any 2 cat replacement for my IROC either, but I'd like to know too. In addition to Flowmaster, Dynomax makes a cat-back system for our cars with the dual cats. On Jeg's for $169, I think.

I don't know about the pipes but Catco makes direct replacement cats, but they are much more expensive than universal ones.

Oi! Newbies hehehe

Ok, for your dual cat replacement... If you dont want any more performance, just to take it back to stock, go get the factory replacement thingy. If you want to add some HP to your car, give SLP a call. They will be able to help you. They should be able to supply the manifold to cat pipe and also they sell Random Technology cats. Random Tech's are the best cats made. catco and car Sound both break down and fall apart within a year in my experiance. For less then $800 you might actually be able to get headers, the downpipe and cats (probably not, but hey give SLP a call).
You might also want to go check out TPIS, they have a ton on exhaust stuff for our cars.

As for cat backs; SLP, TPIS, Edlebrock, Flowmaster, Dynomax, Borla, and im sure that there are many more. Everyone and their brother's make cat backs. If you cant find wat you want, buy a muffler for a single cat car amd have the local muffler man or speedshop weld up the system for ya. Hope this helps.
