Glad to hear. Yeah, I've burnt my share of wires, that's why I'm gettin coated headers now.

I haven't burnt through any plug wires yet and its been about a week since I've had my headers on. I got a new set of wires that are longer so I can re-route them. But the ones I have on now are presses against the headers, but they haven't even melted or burnt or anything. Hmmm.

as long as they don't lay on a header, you should be fine

Was the back-firing caused by something to do with spark plug wire??

yeah, i had the 3 and 7 cyl. plugs backwards lol....and yesterday my car started running rough an di remember reading somthing about peopel melting wires, so i popped my hood, and low and behold ......fried wire, ....the spark was jumping through the wire and going onto the header itself instead of going to the plug....

Go and get you a set of accel 8mm custom fit wires. They are all 90 degree boots so you wont toast them on a header. Those straight ones dont do well on headers. Oh you have to cut those wires yourself and stuff but it pretty easy.

sounds MEAN.....love it....next attemption, cam and heads, finally got the exhaust fully complete. i guess my next actual install will be the intake manifold for the tbi <id love to do the ultimate tbi mods but dont trust myself with a dremel, and dont know exactly what to do either>yeah, the intake will be a breeze, ve installed a intake, 600 edelbrock carb new distributor , re ran the fuel lines and all that good stuff on the 86 camaro.
