SLP vs. Hooker long tube

OK, i have SLP 1 3/4" on a solid roller cammed 406. I happened to come across a pair of Jet-Hot coated Hooker super comps REALLY cheap. So I got them because I could not pass the offer up. Question is will I see a noticeable difference by adding them?

The rest of the exhaust is a 3" random tech cat into mufflex 4".

Is it worth installing now or should I wait until the blower goes in a few years?

Steve

Your best gain would be to sell the Hooker super comps to me REALLY cheap and spend that money on other performance mods. Or sell the SLPs to me REALLY cheap and install the Hookers. Seriously, I like the Hookers better. They sound better, but I'm not sure about power gains over the SLPs. They should improve upper RPM power without hurting the low end too much. I don't know of anyone that has had both sets on their car for comparison, but the owner of the performance shop around Waco always reccomends the Hooker super comps.

I would immagine that going for the cheaper headers is your best bet,IMO.Unless money is no issue.
They are the same as far as pipe diameter, right? If so, performance gains/loses shoud be neglegable.

ponti- the main difference is the hookers are not shoved into a tiny y pipe after less than half a foot of primaries, the hookers wind around for about 2 feet then go to a 3 inch y pipe unlike the slps. i think you should install those bad boys and let us know once and for all which is better....and why....im sure you will find the LTs are the winner.

Dont forget you need a y pipe for those bad boys....unless you already have one

Man if my camaro were a rice-rocket all those mods would give me what...easily 50-60 hp!!!
