Im going to buy a set of SLP 1 5/8" single cat headers with the adapter for a 3" cat....I also wanted to buy from Jegs some Stage 8 locking bolts, and some better gaskets (should I get the copper or the aluminum gaskets?) My question is, do I really need to get the SLP installation kit? What comes in the kit? Thanks for the info.

Stage 8 bolts won't work with the SLP's because of the different standoff spacers. Yes, get the kit, it makes iteasier

I know this may sound pretty dumb but which are the slp headers???Ive looked throught the jegs catalog and i find the TES but no look on the slp....please show me the light

Jegs doesnt carry SLP....SLPs are a bit more, but theyre made out of Stainless Steel and will last a lot longer. Go to www.slponline.com to see them. Thanks for the info about the Stage 8 bolts Joel (thats my name too) I saw on the site that the install kit comes with gaskets and everything....are they the cheap kind that will leak the next day after I put them on...or will they last me? Should I buy some aftermarket gaskets instead? If so which kind. Thanks

No copper or aluminum with stainless steel headers, get some fel-pro with the steel core.

Why not? I run aluminum gaskets with them, never had a leak, never had to retighten.

 

call stage 8 direct....they carry bolts that will work with the SLP headers...

 

Stage 8 kit p/n 8911 does work with the SLP headers I have. They are 1.25" long and the only place they don't fit is where a long stud is required for mounting other braces for asseccories (2 places on my car).

But as posted above, call stage 8 direct, you can get longer lengths as well.
