side exit question

I have a quick question about dual exhaust. I wanna put duals on with it exiting right in front of the rear tires with the mufflers right under the front floor boards if you know what I mean. Does anyone here have this setup or have a pic of a setup like this so I can see how much ground clearance it'll have. Thanks.

Ground clearance will be non existant. There is room on the passenger side, but not on the driver's side. There are a lot of people who put down dual exhaust on our cars, but honestly if you dont have to run cats its not hard to do. I am getting my dual exhaust welded up tomorrow. People just need to understand that you cant fit two full size mufflers (flowmasters, super turbos, etc) under our cars without a decent amount of pipe bends or fab work to the car. What you need to do (what i am doing) is to run a smaller muffler. Spintech, Dynomax bullet mufflers and car chemistry inserts will allow you to do a dual exhaust setup with decent ground clearance. I will try to get pics up tomorrow.

Spintech also sells oval tubing to help increase ground clearence. I doubt this would be sufficent ground clearence but its something you can look into.

What about glasspacks?? I don't now how they sound on small blocks...all I ever heard 'em on is a olds 425, and a Chev 396. Would that be a better idea??? Also does anyone know where I can fing sound clips of a thirdgen with packs online. the one in the sound clips on this site distorts my speakers when I try to play it.

Bullet mufflers are similar to glasspacks but sound a whole lot better. They are 31 bucks from www.summitracing.com I got my dual exhaust hung today and it consists of 2 1/2" pipe, an X pipe behind the tranny and dual 2 1/2" bullet mufflers to turndowns at the axle. not a ton of ground clearance, but i can go over everything except steep driveways.
