DUAL EXHAUST!
Dual exhaust on a fbody? all you have to do is take around 4 inch diameter pipe and ovalize it down.... flows the same and sounds SWEET
Why "ovalise" it yourself???? As soon as you hit the first bump in the road it will be ovalised, then it will fall off, then the sparks from all that metal dragging will burn your car up. I guess then you can get a 1 gen Camaro and put true duals and get away with it

I've got a true dual exhuast setup I wouldn't think of not going with it in a performance setup.

I have a dual 3in setup, I need it. I like it. The car is mine, so I'll do what I want with it. Wait a minute...don't ricers have single exhaust??? That makes all cars with single exhaust Rice...I hate that stupid term, most of the guys who use it are probably pissed cause they got whipped by one. OK, I am done venting now. Have a nice day

I have dual exhaust from the manifolds back to dual tips. I haven't done ANY exhaust work but there are 4 glass pacs (two small 'resonators') and dual H-pipe. My car has an unexplained amount of power for a 305 and I'd attribute it to the exhaust and gearing.

i, too, had true duals on a 305 3rd gen. except for the hedders and a performance-rebuilt carb, everything was stock. that car flew
fyi- i'm having true duals run on my current 3rd gen tomorrow AND i'm replacing my "high flowing" 3in after cat!!

Duals is the way to go! Ive got hooker 1 3/4 super comps and dual 3" flowmaster exhaust on my 87 T/A. Talk about power increase!! It picked my car up .3 in the 1/8 over 2.5" duals 1 5/8 shortys routed factory location.. Anyone who takes a little time to think about flow characteristics on the factory f-body exhaust would realize that GM really fubared our cars from the factory. put duals on a stock tpi and watch the mustang boys scatter!
So to run Duals, what do you do about the O2 sensor, do you use a crossover or whatever they're called, and are there bullet shaped cats?
Pretty new to this stuff, so any answers you could give me would be much appreciated.

I am planning on doing a true duel setup in the next couple weeks, I'd love to know your guy's different setups and how you did it.
I plan on just running hooker shorty headers and then just running the pipes (2.5") straight back and two mufflers dumped right in front of the axle...
any thoughts (other than "you cant do it") ?

Had Dual 2 1/4" and single 3", the car had a lot more go to it with the 2 1/4" setup. On wensday I'm getting my dual 3" with flowmasters put in not sure what kind of ground clearance I'll have but I'm willing to sacarfice it for the extra power, and the sound.

Thats what I'm saying, who cares if I lose 1/2 an inch or even an inch of clearance? Not like I'm going to be driving over speed bumps or up drive-ways all day....

on a dual exhaust setup, where on the car is clearance a problem? Behind the transmition right? how about raising the backend about 2"? hardly noticible but would make for more clearance?
what about exhaust equalization? my muffler guy when I asked him about duals said, it wont work because there is no way to connect the two pipes to equalize the exhaust backpressure which can hurt performance!?
