gta exhaust ?

ihave a 1989 gta trans am and i read an article and it said that all gtas came with the dual cat in 1989. my car has a single cat exhaust was something changed on my car? is this true about all gta L98s having dual cats? mine is a L98 and i did check the RPO codes.

just because it was in the article doesnt mean it was correct. it could be, but in your case it appears not to be. is you car a real GTA? maybe someone put GTA badges on your car?...just throwing out ideas here. maybe some GTAs had the single cat setup?....

GTAs are very nice. i am not too knowledgeable about which models came with what stuff...ask on the history/restoration board for the scoop on what exhaust options the GTAs had.

Car: projects.......
89' GTA here, and mine was single cat. It was an option, which most GTA's did not get. Not all anything had dual cats. Just an option...the only one my car didn't have on it...

later, justin...

for model year 1989 only the Formula with the 350/auto or 305 TPI 5 speed got the dual cats. the GTA only got the single cat. it was the only year the Formula was rated 10 hp higher than a GTA.
