Hooker Comp Headers
Hooker Comp Headers
Has anyone here used these headers before? I was considering these as well as the SLP stainless. However, I have a friend who has equipment to do ceramic coating (jet-hot) so I'm more inclined to buy the hookers if they are a decent header for the money...Any suggestions???
I got the super comp headers, they work great and sound great... pretty cheap too, wish I could have coated them but they look pretty nice as they are...go for them you wont regrett it

My Hooker Shorties are the Comp brand. They are very, very well built 1 5/8 headers made from 18 gauge steel. Many others are only 16 gauge, so the Hookers are first class.

unless I've been breathing too much welding fumes, 16 gauge is thicker than 18 gauge.

It was a bit of a problem installing them, not hard persay, but just very time consuming, I had to lift the motor on both sides, remove a bunch of sensors and the dipstick, the stering column was in the way on the drivers side, and the A/C on the other side. after putting them on I realized that I could tighten my spark plugs so I had to unbolt the headers tighten them and rebolt them on, it wasnt fun but it paid off, it shouldnt be to hard if you know what your doing.. oh yeah forgot, I cut a brake line putting them in, but that was my fault.. not to fun may I add

Duh!
You are right and I am wrong
Those fumes must smell good!
Anyway, the Hooker Shorty headers are made from heavier gauge steel than most other brands.
