How did you adjust it? Would a new 02 sensor help? Im gonna put new wires and cap and rotor on this weekend so should i just go ahead and change the 02 sensor too?

My car has been idling pretty rough ever since it started smelling. Are those symptoms of a bad cat or bad air/fuel mixture? opr both

Try changing the o2 sensor, that can cause you to idle badly. An old cat won't cause any problems, unless its clogged.

If there's a dead cat in your exhaust I wouldn't expect the engine to run that well... How'd it get in there? j/k
