Dynomax Mufflers...

Hey Everyone,

I've got myself a 1984 Firebird, and just looking to add a little bit more of a rumble to my car, I'm looking at re-doing my exhaust and my muffler, and I've currently been considering a Dynomax, I'm trying to decide between the 'Ultra Flo SS' muffler, and the 'Super Turbo' muffler...

What I was wondering is this. Does anyone out there have any experience with either of these mufflers, and have any recommendations or ideas for me?

Thanks Everyone!

I would go with the turbo model. They seem to flow the best besides borla which is ten times more expensive.

Hey I just put a Super Turbo muffler on my Formula about a month ago. I was a little disapointed at first becuase I didn't think it was any louder than stock. I really like it now though. At idle its got a really nice, deep tone and it sounds great when you open it up. Goin down the highway at 70 or 80 it just kind of rumbles without a lot of interior resonance. Overall I really like it.

I just finished putting on a Dynomax cat back with Super Turbo muffler a couple hours ago--It fits good, sounds good. I like it.

A friend of mine has a dynomax exaust system and It sounds good, sort of a soft rumble though. If your looking for louder exaust notes, try something else.

Another thing, It also depends on what kind of engine you have, my friend has a 350, if yours is a 305 it might be louder.

The Dynomax catback sounds excellent without the cats, IMO.

Hello
I was wondering if anyone has tried the new Ravin Mufflers.
They look nice.

I love my Dynomax...like it better than the overly loud flowmaster on my daily driver 92 z28. Very rumbly and loud when it should be.

As an aside...don't know if anyone else notices this...after about 3 weeks my flowmaster was developing a lot of surface rust and the alumized pipes really were looking like crap. My Dynomax has been on the car now for 3 months and the pipes look brand new!

just my opinion.... plus the dynomax is cheap!

I went with the Dynomax Stainless Steel UltraFlo Catback.. I love the deep tone it produces.. plus when your going fast, and let off the gas there is no popping. just a nice even tone of the engine slowing down.

It's not super-loud at idle, but at WOT it really roars. Add in headers and remove the cat and you've got one awesome exhaust; since the Dynomax Super Turbo seems to be the quietest aftermarket performance muffler, it's great for cars with headers, cam, and no cat, because it deadens it a bit, so it's not so loud even YOU get annoyed driving...
