good idea or hillbilly trash?

I am thinking of running full length headers, about 3 feet of straight 3 inch pipe, then two Hooker Aerochambers that dump right before the axle. Has anyone ever tried this? Does it sound good? Interior resonance? Tone change due to no tail pipes? In short, does this seem like a good plan, or should I leave this to the shadetree mechanics? Thanks.

I don't know about legality, but it seems like about half the Mustangs running around here have this setup. Besides legality, what do you think about the idea?

I think it will be a matter of time before something rips them right off.

the definition of hillbilly trash also has the term "the exaust fell off, it sounded good, so I left it off" and anything that mentiones $9 glasspacks.

I'd try to incorporate an H-corssover into the system as well. An X would be better, but where the hell would it fit? If your car isn't slammed, it should be ok 90% of the time. (keep your fingers crossed) I have a true dual set up on my car using oval pipe, I dragged my old Borla cat. back a few times. So, I figured what the hell? I might as well have duals.

Go for it. I heard that for it to be legal, you don't have to have any tailpipes but the exhaust must dump behind the driver's seat. In other words, just before the rear axle would be legal.
