Best aftermarket high-flow cat.

I want a high flow cat. I have a test pipe with flanges that I can use anytime, but I have the cash for a high flow cat (and a hook up) so which is best, or is it all the same? Random Technology, Catco, or Dynomax? Anyone have any of them? Noticeable change? I assume I'd only get like 3-4 horses anyways...

Random Tech does make good cats. Catco also has really good cats. I am not sure about the Dynomax ones. If I were you, I would order a Catco from www.summitracing.com because they are just over $100 versus about double that for a Random Tech. Also, the Catco can be ordered from Summit to directly bolt up to many different applications and they do come in 3" sizes. That is my opinion.

Okay, I just saw that you have a hookup. In that case, I would go with the cheapest and easiest to work with. I know Random Tech and Catco both make them to bolt up to stock apps and stuff. I don't know about Dynomax. As far as performance goes, I have heard that many high flow cats will cause you to only lose 3-4 hp versus a straigh pipe...so...you probably won't even notice a difference from the setup you have now.

I have a Random Technology Cat and I like it a lot. cost me about $245. shipped. The car feels stronger somehow and the exhaust note sounds a little more aggressive which I like. The Cats quality is very good also. A lot of people have told me not to waste money on Random Technolgy Cats but, for something thats going to be on your car a long time I want the best quality. I've been to muffler shops and they recommended Carsound or Catco but, I didn't like their quality. I like the Random Technology stainless steel construction also, Random Technologys ad says," on our test engine, a Random Technology High Flow Cat produced no loss of power vs. a staight pipe". I don't know if this is just true because their engine had a lot of horse power to begin with but, no other high flow cat ad mentions this.

Catco and Dynomax are also stainless steel.

My Catco's been fine.Cheap too,at about $75.
I've heard Random is a much better cat, but for the money,I recommend the Catco.
