should i put turn downs instead of my tailpipes?

i should be getting my flowmaster 80 series muffler in a few days now and i was thinkin maybe i would put turndowns on the muffler instead of the tail- pipes. i know it will make it louder in the car but will it make it quieter outside the car? and will it make me get fumes inside the car? what about maybe cutting the tailpipes down to about 10 inches and then putting turn downs on that? what do you guys think?

turn downs shouldnt be used on a car that is driven everyday. Yes, fumes can and will enter the car. also, exhaust fumes can cause rust to form under the car. just look at all the chevy trucks that have there pipes exit behind the rear tires. there panels are all rusted. what is your goal with the exhaust?
