Headers installed running like crap
I just got my headers installed took the guy 3days to do it, lol. Anyways, my car is running like complete junk. He told me i needed to change my wires and put 90* boot wires on it so i am going to. Do you think this will fixed the problem. Its idling horribly, when u put it in drive it like wants to die, and while driving ive been told it sounds like a tank, lol... Any and all help would be gr8 if theres some1 local to Phila, u know how to solve this problem let me know ill drive out to you. Thanx

I'm shooting in the dark here since I'm not there to look at the car, but check the 02 sensor and wire going to it. You may have a burned wire to the sensor and that would definately cause problems.
You might have also damaged the 02 sensor during the changover to headers.

Your mechanic is right about using 90 deg boots on ignition wires. Just about any header will require you to do this. You probably burned a boot or two and maybe the wire, causing a miss and your rough idling. I recommend getting universal wires with 90 deg plug boots and cutting it to fit. Take your time to route the wires right so you won't burn them.

I do beleave I figured out what the problem is besides needing new wires, i think the idiot put the wires on WRONG!!!!!!! This is why i could be messing, having no power, and running like the engine is going 2 die

Well that would definately do it. I guess we were all looking for a more complex problem, and not taking stupidity into account.
I guess the "kiss" principle (keep it simple stupid) should have been the first thing we all looked at

mine runs a tiny bit rough too......but not as bad as his. Even if say a wire was touching the headers,,,but not getting burned would it be grounding out or mess it up abit???
also,,,say I had one plug wire not geting a good connection how bad would my car run, would it be really noticable......its hard for me to tel as I only have it in the garage till some of this snow goes away.

My car runs fine now. The guy who installed the headers put the firing order as a FORD!!!!! Stupied SOB. My wires on basically laying on the headers with no problem, except they will most likely melt in a couple weeks, which is not a problem... Check to see if ur connections are complete, not like half a$$ barely touching, u want a full contact... If it is still running a lil ruff up the timing 2* if ur running reg u will ping, but it should cure the ruffness. If not try a basic tune up. When I first got my car it ran horrible 2 cans of Gumout, and a complete tune up later runs brand new... Try the little things first then think big.
