Not all of us live out in the boon docks and have the luxury of no emissions tests!

plus, call me a hippy, but i dont like the idea of poluting more than i have to.

btw.... Catco seems to make decent ones

they owner of the performance shop told he that heddman makes the best hiflow cats, and that most of the others are nothing more than hollow cats. I plan on running tes headers and a 3 inch heddman cat (owner said about 115 for 3" don't know if thats with/without air) I've heard that random tech makes the best cat, but they will cost you big.

Flow tests have shown Car Sound cats flow the most. I've had them on mine for a year now, and no problems.

I am not sticking up for chevyboy but not all of Florida is out in the boon docks. Even though we do not have emissions testing most of us still keep our cats on. I just recently replaced my old stock one for a Catco and it does fine for my car.

BTW, the removal or alteration of the catalytic converter is not governed by state emissions regulations, but instead by the EPA. It is illegal to mess with it in a factory installed vehicle even if the state has no emissions testing.

Yeah, its something crazy like that.

The only way to get away with legally changing cats is if your factory one is malfunctioning.

Maximum penalty is $2500 for individual.
It is also ilegal to remove the AIR pump.
Read it for yourself, go to page 5 for a list of items that are ilegal to remove:

When my heat shield fell off I was like "Yep, time for a new cat."

Get the catco $55 universal 3" from summit if you're strapped for cash. If not, get the Car Sound like Kevin said.
