Who has exhaust tips coming out the sides of thier car?

I was thinknig about making the exhaust tips come out the sides of my car in front of the back wheels.. not straight out but kind of angled towards the back of the car more.. if you know what i mean. is this possible to do? will i be able to fit 2 mufflers? or will one work?

CarNDrvr was the 1st pic of this setup that I remember seeing. His setup had 2 bullet mufflers (was a dual setup) in place of the converter, and 2 pipes following stock routing until the rear seat area where they turned and exited before the rear pass side wheel. If I had a pic I'd post it...

I've considered this, but my car is too low already. Why it won't come out of the ground effects very easily? The ground effects are about level with the rocker panel(even with the effects on my car), and the rocker panel is about level with the floor pan. You can do it, but the exhaust has to be at the very least below the floor pan, which is too low for me. Part of the reason why third-gens handle so well, is part of the reason why exhaust isn't easy--IMO anyway.

Yeah it would be so sweet to pull that off. i know theres a blue (?) camaro somewhere on here with true dual and exits right before rear wheels. talk about NO ground clearance and getting headaches from the smells while sittin in traffic.

82camaro- what kind of springs do you have and how much lower is it sitting from stock (if any)? i was looking at eibach springs for mine. your car is real sweet man!!:hail:

ok i got a couple pics- you can see that ground clearance is pretty much gone -but it looks soo bad ***!! i wouldn't want to deal with it on a daily driver though. heres the link the pics won't seem to work:click here

1.5 suspension techniques (bell tech) drop springs. Back in the day, 1994, drop springs choices were more limited. How much lower? The front stayed about the same(maybe .5 lower at most), but the drop springs were 5 inches shorter--the stock v6 springs didn't like holding up the V8. The back came down about an inch.

I have a dual 3" exhaust with side pipes by the rear tires.. Ground clearance isn't as bad as you would think..

It's all mandrel bent stainless and I designed and built it myself.. The mufflers are Flowpaths, soon to be flowmasters..

Unfortunatly I don't have any pics, other than this one that you can barely see the tip by the rear tire..

Cheers,

Need4Speed1387 - It was really loud before I put the turbos on.. Now it's much quieter, but, you can still hear me coming about 4 or 5 blocks away... I have 1-5/8 shorty headers. No cats either.

bubbakutz - The mufflers were about 100 bucks a peice and 7 SS mandrel bends and 6 feet of SS straight pipe was around 75 bucks.. So, it was around 300 bucks Canadian for the parts and just an afternoon of my time and welder..

84Z28_5.7ltr_V8 - As long as I don't have any exhaust leaks, you rarely notice the exhaust fumes..

Cheers,

Yea, it is fairly cheap..

2 40 series flows will sound awesome..

Personally, I'd wait and get the headers as well and do it all at once. It would probably still sound fine with manifolds tho, but you're still going to be choked..
