Exhaust tips
ok... i cant live with this weeny sounding stock exhaust any more! i still have the flowmaster 80 from my old car, and im planning on tossing that on, the only problem is tips. i have it between two things, the crome 3" hooker tips. i was also thinking the dual outlet flowtech tips that have resinators. they kinda look like the monza ones but with out the nasty yellow! ick. anyways anybody have these tips? how do the resinators change the exhaust sound? i think it would be cool to have some thing that looks and sounds a lil diferent from the norm. and NO changing the muffler is not an option seeing as i already have it.

resonators are mufflers dude. Why would you want mufflers in your exaust tips? I got 4thgen z28 tips and I love them.

hey tas, a lot of companies sell tips with "resonators." These are the same thing as what comes with the SLP loudmouth system. I think it just means that there is some encased packing in the tips.

Can you buy the Hooker tips seperately ? I have them with their catback and I like the way they look but they rust as soon as you take them out of the box.

That's why I picked a Dynomax muffler as well.BTW, that ugly yellow paint in the Monza tips comes right off after a few weeks of use and a brisk rub with steel wool, and the quality of the Monza tips are several times better than the Flowtech tips. I've had both. Flowtech is like the KMart house brand of exhaust parts. The crome is thin and flaky, and the y is a lot more restrictive than a y should be.

well the resinator tips are definatly out.. if i wanted to be quiet, i would just keep the stock exhaust. I will probably go w/ the hooker tips. i am not talking about the double tips that come w/ the catback, im talking about the regular 3" single pipe tipes. they are in jegs
