Has ANYONE heard or seen or have a magnaflow catback system?

Does any one know any thign about the 1993 magnaflow kit with the stanless setup and three inch i pipe with the 3.5 polished tips
pictures sound clips and opinions would be greatly apriciated

Also what have people heard or what do you thing the system would sound like and how it would flow is is a straight through muffler and not cross flow. i have heard people saying is is too quied but i cant figure how a dual cat 350 engine is quiet with a 3" i pipe and a straight through muffler.

thanks

It is loud, very loud. It's louder at idle than my 2000 LS1 with the borla catback and no plate at all. It has a very low and mellow tone, yet loud at idle and even louder at full throttle, but doesnt compare at full throttle to the borla. It sounds good while cruising, but has a slight gurgle at part throttle and will scare people when you get on it. Thats the best description I can give.

thanks that helps a lot yet sound clips would be great
i think i may be going with the magnaflow

PS Have you heard of any problems with the tubing it is staneless yet i called them up and they told me it is 400 grade which is less rust resestant than 300 which is what borla makes their systmes with.

thanks again

I have a magnaflow muffler on my '86 T/A with a 350 TPI with mods in the sig. It sounds really good. It is noticably louder than the stock muffler at idle and WOT. It has a nice mellow grumble that is good for a sleeper. IMO if you want to really get noticed for having a built car then magnaflow wouldn't be the one for you. However i dont know what it sounds like with all the mods except what i have. Hope this helps. Good luck!

My friend has the magnaflow on his 00 TA. Its got a custom cam and is putting down 400+ to the wheels. Sounds very nice. Not really loud, but i he said at WOT its sweet sweet music.

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys!

it sounds like it will be mosly what i am looking for, yet do you have anything to say about the performance of it straight through design, and also how does it look and hold up if you have the catback system does it have the 3.5 " staneless tips, they look sweet alone but a picture of it on any of your cars would be very helpfull.

Also if i DO WANT TO BE NOTICED at certain times if i got a cut out and put it on the i pipe right after the two cats would that make it a lot louder do you think?

Thanks a lot

Here's a pic of my Magnaflow with stock looking hidden tips. Its the 3" inlet to 2, 2.5" tips. Performance wise i did notice a little gain and have heard that it is one of the best perfroming muffler out there. Overall i am verry happy with mine. I Think headers with a cut out would be good for those times you want to be noticed. Good luck!

Thankfully they don't sound like the rutangs. All of them sound exactly alike!!!
I bought a 79 Z28 that had headers and 2 flowmasters and it rattled the car and I kept thinking something was wrong with the engine, both sound and vibrations. I had both cut out and a new pair of the aluminized magnaflows put in and I was able to chirp the tires going into 2nd gear. I just couldn't believe the difference between the two brads of mufflers. The magnaflows have a nice smooth low rpm sound that sets off all those stuid burgler alarms. At hyway speed in the car it quiets down a little for those late night cruzes home. When you put your foot in it it sounds just like it is WIDE OPEN!!! No more rattleing or vibrations !!!!!
Two days after I spent $300.00 for my exhust my car was stolen. Three weeks later a new 79 Z28 with a single flowmaster after headers, same nastyness. $300.00 later sweet sounding car.
My 89 TA is going to get Hooker LT & Magnaflows.

KAT

Very nice system, installs easy and fits real good. To some it might be loud to others it's not.

I keep hearing magnaflow is loud, and other times people say it is timid, I need to hear one in person.

The only way your going to get close to the sound of a stang is to change your firing order by getting a custom made cam ground to the Ford firing order. I have a Magnaflow on my Dodge truck with the 5.9 engine and it sounds really good, deep sounding at idle and gets peoples attention when I get on it, but it's pretty quiet going down the hwy.

I'm definately not a ford fan but i hate to admit those late 80, early 90's stangs do sound saweeet. i think thats cuz they got true duals i think.

I have a MagnaFlow Cat-back and I personally find it very soothing. Its got the rumble at the low RPMs and doesn't idle too loud. Its better than any Fart Can.

That is a good question. Anyone have any input? I can say my flowmaster is obnoxious with no cat.
