Catalytic length??

Hey guys, I was about to order a Catco catalytic converter from Summit Racing... I was wondering what length was the original converter? 14" or 16"??

You're looking at the universal fit units.

Bad move. Save yourself $'s & headaches and get a direct-fit unit.

I agree, buy the direct fit Catco for the model year of your car.

Nothing, if you like cutting and fabbing up your pipes to fit.

Likewise. That's why I know what's wrong with them. It's what DJP87Z28 said.

I also just bought the universal off e-bay with shipping was like $45 muffler shop will weld it in place for $50 thats $95 instead of the $249 most places want for the direct fit. When moneys an issue its less than half the cost. That is why I think alot of us go with the universal. Bad side is once its welded in PITA if you need to remove it for anything like gas tank removal. I am going to try and disconnect mine and see if I can cut and weld the universal Catco to the direct fit piping ends off the stock cat. That way I can just bolt it back in place. Anybody ever try this yet?

The Direct fit Catco for my '89 Iroc 305 TBI (L03) is Catco part# 4115. Summit sells this part, but they don't have our application listed with it. Summits part# is CTO-4115. They have it listed as 2 1\2" inlet. It is actually a 2 1\4 inlet with ball outlet. To answer yoyur first question, it is 23" long. I am not sure which F-Body you have, but this is what the \89 L03 needed.

Direct fit Catco Cat for your model year about $120 from Summit and requires no welding. Just uses clamps.
