Hedman Elite headers+Y-pipe
This tip is for those of you who have got the Hedman headers and y-pipe that doesn't fit properly, namely the y-pipe has no clearance for the oil pan and crossmember. After countless tries to get a new y-pipe made, I finally gave up and decided to go adifferent route.
I took the bolts loose on the collectors without removing them, they are 21/2 to 3in. long. Then I got two exhaust doughnuts that fit almost perfectly, part number 60854 made by Felpro. I put the conical side down into the y-pipe and the flat side up into the collector. I tightened down the bolts a little at a time till they were tight, making sure to keep the doughnut centered. The flat top mated up almost perfectly with the collector. No leaks and I got the added clearance for the oil pan, and the y-pipe only hangs down about a 1/2in below the crossmember. Though my car is lowered about 1-2 in from stock there is ample room from the y-pipe to the ground.
Finally for the first time no leaks and no hitting the oil pan..

Having the same problem with the one side not mating up. Do you have any pictures of what you did? Also besides what you posted in the message did you have to do anything else?

No. Its the Hedman Y Pipe (#17470). I spoke w/ a tech rep at Hedman and explained to him my problem. He ask what type of heads I was using and told him they are Dart II heads. The respose that I got from him was that there products are for the stock application and not aftermarket heads.

I don't have any pictures of it but, it does work for me. I am running Trick Flow heads on my car and deffinataly di not have enough clearance for my oil pan. It was hitting ever so slightly on the drivers side of the pan. Do not hit the oil pan to the clearance, I made that mistake and ended up having to buy a new pan, since I screwed up the alignment to the point that the pan began to leak. So I put a Milodon stock replacement pan on and did the doughnut trick and has been sealed up since and I have the clearance.
In my previous post I put the part number from Fel-Pro of the part I used. It did the trick. As I said before, if you have longer bolts on the collectors just losen them up so you can slide the doughnut in without removing the pipe, do so for both sides and tighten them equally a little at a ime to draw them up straight.
Hope this helps..

I'm glad it worked for you, it sure was easier and a lot less of a hassle than trying to get a new pipe made or the existing one modified, let alone the cost of making a new one. Here in Ohio where I live, no one will even touch the car without the emissions gone.
After a some run time, check the bolts to make sure they are tight after a couple heat cycles. So far, no problem with mine..
