Will Chevy headers work on a Pontiac?

I was looking through JEGS and I noticed that some of their headers say "fits 82-92 f-body" and some just say "fits 82-92 camaro." Dont all 3rd gen V8 pontiacs have Chevy engines? If that's the case will the one's that say "82-92 camaro" fit, or is there just a clearance problem? I don't know why I am even asking considering I dont even have a 3rd gen f-body yet, but I plan on getting one in the very near future. I am planning on getting a late 80's -early 90's firebird, trans am, or firebird formula, 5.7 liter TPI only. I'm just trying to get my stuff straightened out now, so I dont have to later. I'd like to get the most hassle free headers for around $150. Dunno if i want LT or shorties. I'm hoping the rest of the exhaust will consist of 2.5 inch dual exhaust with high flow cat and dynomax bullets, then dumping off right before the rear axles. Im open to suggestions on headers for this type of setup. Thanks, Chris.

yes, all third gen v8's have a sbc. Any header made specifically for a third gen will fit either a camaro or a firebird. Makes no difference at all!

um. you really not going to find "hassel free" headers for $150. look into a set of edelbrock, hooker, headman for a good set of headers w/ a y-pipr. street legal w/ air and o2 bung will run you somehwere in the 300's

There is a set of hookers in Jegs with some heat resistent coating on them for about $140 i think. Are they any good? Hard to fit?

Some of the early Firebirds got the 4.9 301 Pontiac motor.

I thought the 2.5 4-cylinder was a Pontiac motor.

Coated will run more the $140.

Sounds like 2460's. They don't come with a y-pipe, so you will have to have yours modified or a new on fabricated.

i believe the 2.5 4cyl is a 301v8 cut in half so i guess you could say all 4cly thirdgen's got Pontiac engines
