Hooker cat back
Ok guys im alittle undecided.
I have been looking into the Hooker cat back and the Random Tec cat back from thunder racing.
Everything I have read makes me believe Hooker is the best bang for the buck. But I dont like the double tips.
So the Question is
If i was to have the Hooker and not use the tips how far do the tips stick out, Or how far under the car are they?
How long are the double tips?
Some pics maybe?
Thank you
:hail: :hail: :hail:
Exhaust is going to be Heddman shorties 1 5/8 with Y-pipe to catco high flo direct fit cat, 3" ??? cat back.

I don't have a pic handy, but my tips are about 1" under the bumper. I'm a little disappointed with that. I didn't really slide them that far over the tailpipes, probably between 1"-2". And without putting my shoes back on and hauling my lazy butt out to the car, I'd say they're about 8" long. Hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure you will need to buy different tips if you don't use hookers, other wise they will be way behind the bumper.
I second that, hooker definatley is a great cat-back, the tips, are about 8 inchs like was stated before and mine actually come out about a half inch before the bottom of the bumper which I also think is quite dissapointing.
If anything, just get some tips off the net or go to your local muffler shop and see if you can buy some from them, they usually have em kinda cheap. Stay with the hooker cat-back though, its great.

my exhaust must be set up differently, cause i jammed my tips on as far as they could go on the tail pipes and im even with the bumper. I wana trim up some of the pipe, but the passanger side has that slight bend it in to make it strait and i dont feel like making a bend that will match that. i could probably still cut it back about 3-4 inches and be safe. Maybe thats why the noise isnt as nice, cause the pipes are right up against the y split.

Thanks for the replys
I do want to go with the Hooker, Maybe i will look into some turndowns for them.
Or from what u guys are saying it sounds like there tucked up under the bumper alittle.
I might be able to live with that.
I have been looking at some pics of different exhaust and the tips are starting to grow on me.
Oh decisions decisions
Thanks:hail: :hail: :hail:

if you do a search for my name and hooker you should find some pics of mine.
they could be adjusted to come out a little which is what the exhaust shop did, but i recently cut them off and tucked them even with the bumper a little better

hooker catback is just amazing. when ever i put the car up on a hoist, people swarm to see 3" mandrell bent exhaust. i hated the dual tips at first, but now i think they look gangster. really gives the car a unique look from the rear. i got mine placed so they just barely shoot out past the inner most part of the bumper.

I have the hooker cat back with borla tips. I had to cut off about 2" to get the new tips to be flush with the rear bumper. the cat back sound sick and I couldn't be more pleased. As far as other tips sticking out, it really depends on thier length. My Borla ones were really long so I had to cut off a lot. Very easy to take car of though. Check my webistes for pics. One more vote for the hookers. The tips really grew on me and look differant then all the others.
I would get the system again in a heart beat.
One note, however, my installer welded them on. When I asked why the extra work, he told me one of his customers had them riped off. it might be worth the extra work so you don't loose them.
