made my decision, in case you care...

hooker 2055's, just back from the coating place where they got the black ceramic coating, 3" cat, Ravin 55-series ra594309 3" in/dual 2.5" out, being installed wednesday with a custom 3" stainless I pipe and 2.5" tails... a bit much for my lame 305, but will be just the ticket for the 400 that's in the works.

i'll try to get some *good* sound clips to post after the install...

Awesome is all I can say! You will be happy with that setup. I don't think it will be too much even for your 305. Let us know the results when you get done installing everythingl

2055's were $700, coating was $200, cat and muffler were about $150 each. all in $Canadian. not bad, since i was quoted as high as $900 for the headers. SLP's would have cost me over a grand... i'm getting the whole install and custom stainless for about $600.

well, the warranty slip says 'hermoff', but that wasn't the name on the box. wasn't anything i'd ever heard of - just a 3" universal from the local speed shop.

sounds killer. the SOTP gauge reads way up, but that could be anything from the plugs and wires to the new air filter too... highway run tomorrow will tell me more...

looks good fred. i really the liek the flat black look. did you get them coated here in town? and if so, where? i am sure those hookers will really help the new motor breath. i painted my hedman long tubes with dupli-colour ceramic high heat paint on wednesday. now i need to find an oven to bake them in.

this is the only clearance pic i've got so far. i believe i have more clearance now than i did with the stock pipes. that thing that looks like a clamp is actually my mudflap/rockguard thingy.
first highway run is tomorrow, so don't know about the high gear raspy thing.
i hear you can get this set for $5-600 coated from jet-hot in the states.

That's still really high .....

You can get those for way under 400 bucks most anywhere.

ceramic coated though?

Even the hedmans (68481) are $320 from jegs uncoated, then you factor in $200 for Jet-Hot coating, not including the shipping cost (another $40), now you're $560

3" in dual 2.5" out - the website is wrong for the dimensions of the muffler... no clips driving yet...
