Ok can i get a 3" i pipe from any exhasut shop that is mandrel bent?? I went to a local shop and they said the only they could get was a compression bent one and i dont want that do i? So then all i would be getting was a i pipe and a muffler and not a new cat or no cat cause they wouldnt do either. I didnt understand why they couldnt put a new cat on to replace the old crappy one but he said it was illegal to mess with a cat that still works or something. Any suggestions of what to say to other shops when i go? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Id check a few other shops.. If they cant do mandrel bend 3inch I wouldn't want them doing my car anyways.
A local shop here can do Upton 6inch mandrel bend.
If you cant find anything local check summitracing

Get the SpinTech, I have the cross flow with 3" in and 2 1/2 out, sounds great, not tinny like a flowcrapper. And if you want your cat replaced just take it off yourself, then take it to a shop and tell them you bought it that way, then have them put your new one on, they won't get in trouble for putting a cat on a car that didn't have one in the first place.

why dont you just buy the whole catback since it includes a mandrel-bent i-pipe, muffler, and tailpipes? also, as far as the cat goes, do what dartbyu said. definitely :hail: flowmaster
I second buying the complete catback system. I had a shop bend me my 3 inch pipes an it looks like crap. They had a tough time bending it over the axel and by the way it looks the air flow is suffering. You'd be safer buying the system and will end up costing the same. (Plus you can install yourself)

the flowmaster force II catback is like $220 i think, and the flowmaster american thunder catback is a little over $300 i think. summit and jegs sell them, so just check their prices there to get the exact prices. the flowmaster force II is quieter with a single tailpipe exiting the rear, and the flowmaster american thunder catback is loud with chrome tips exiting out each side of the rear.

ALright i just looked at jegs and hvae come to an even greater decision. Both the dynomax and hooker are cheaper than flowmaster and the flowmaster that will fit my car just says a cross chamber muffler comes with it. Is this the 80 series cause if not then i wouldnt be able to get the whole catback. Also what part number does anyone have on their car for hooker or dynomax and do they sound good? Also since i dont want to spend too much money will the hooker or dynomax be good for my car? THanks.

Well, my number one choice will always be Spintech....I have the 343SC like DartByU and love it. But if you want the cat back kit (which spintech doesn't make
) I would DEFINATELY consider hooker or dynomax or even magnaflow before flowmaster. The reason why most shops don't do mandrel bending is because mandrel bending machines are VERY expensive. And with your stock 305, I can guarantee you your little 305 won't know the difference between mandrel and non-mandrel bent pipe.

Yeah well i will know the difference and a 350 is in the works for the months to come. I will probably end up going with the hooker so thanks for the help.
