What mufflers should I get for a high 11 second car, LT headers 3inch duals??
The exhaust shop doing my exhaust this week is trying to talk me into using their "shop" mufflers, which in this shop/s case is a pair of Magnaflow 3inch offset inlet, center outlet mufflers, the "shorter" of the two designs magnaflow has. I'm running hooker super comp headers, and a 3inch X pipe true dual exhaust (to be installed this friday). Do you think I should go with the magnaflow's or something smaller/lighter/better flowing for more ground clearance? Really don't want to rob power, so I WOULD go with dynamax bullets, but I think with the LT's, 3inch piping and the solid cammed 11:1 motor in the car it will be REALLY F'n loud.

The Moroso Spiral Flow mufflers are good. They are shaped about the same as a bullet muffler...but a little different in sound. I heard a T/A with an LT1 and dual exhaust with an Hpipe and it sounded mean. Its similar to your setup...with a couple exceptions. The Borla XR1 shootout mufflers are REALLY good...but they arent cheap. They sound great on big block dirt track cars.......Good luck...sounds like it'll be mean

My Father has Magnaflows on his 86 Z28. He runs a 355, 12.5:1, mechanical roller 264dur @ .050 .624lift 110lca with dart II's. He is also running LT headers with 3" duals that dump just under the rear axle.
I take it out a lot since he drives it maybe 2 times a year(hes almost crippaled
) Anyways, those are very loud mufflers! I went through a car dealership and set off at least 5 car alarms on the way in, and again on the way out......while @ idle putting through...Do you like it loud?
Personally i would sacrafice 5-7hp to be able to still mess around while burning around town. I had Edlebrock Race Series mufflers on my S-10 for a bit, and people would come say to me " I saw you floor it back there, nice!" and in reality I was only up to 3000rpm. So I put on a set of Flowmaster Big Block II mufflers (Flowsmasters quietest ones)and found cops left me alone more than before and I was driving harder and faster = more fun!!:hail:

When you check out the web site go to intake& exhaust then what's new for pictures. You will want a TPI-Y with your carb. car.

i second the moroso spiral mufflers. they aren't quite as loud as the bullets but still have good tone quality. my dad is running them on his as i will be on mine in about a month when the car is back together.

Hooker Aerochambers. My car has that "chambered" sound like flowmasters only they dont have that high-pitched tiny sound. Its more like a deep roar. Best way to describe it is "flowmaster with *****"
