an lt1 has traditional exhaust ports right? so any of the aftermarket exhaust components for 3rd gens should bolt right up.

yes LS1s look like 0 0 0 0

LT-1s look like 0 00 0 just like traditional Gen 1 blocks.. and yes they wll bolt right up with thirdgen headers.

of the 2 LT1 swaps ive seen in real life, both had SLP 3rdgen headers with custom Y pipes.

Ok I want REAL dual exhaust none of that fake ****, two pipes right off the headers, there is not emissions in minnesota and thats where i would get the most HP right? I was also thinking about side pipes, could i do those on my caR?

A single 3" exhaust outflows most true dual set-ups. A dual set-up sounds much better but causes a lot of clearance problems with these cars. I nice set of 1 3/4" shorties with a 3" y pipe cat and catback will be more than enough to support a healthy LT1. Yes longtubes are ideal, but for 10hp less I would want the ground clearance to complment a low suspension set-up. There are many fourth gen heads and cammed LT1's running shorties with 1 5/8 primaries putting down 350+ to the wheels. Just buy any system that is desing for a thirdgen and it will work with an LT1. Now LS1's are completely different and require the retention of the stock manifolds or custom headers with a tubular k-member.
