Exhaust idea
Exhaust idea
I was looking to do something new with my exhaust and thought about getting hedmann longtubes and connect them to a short length of pipe and then a chambered muffler that would exit some where behind the front wheel and to the side. Would this work?
What if I used shortie headers? All i want to do is have a dual exhaust, and the idea of going all the way to the back is a little too costly right now. Any other suggestions?

shortie headers are a pain to install, and if your doing it your self and all the welding, then u could do shorties, use flowtech warlock mufflers, because they have the thinest case, and run the pipe and have them exit just in front of the back tires. that would make them much quieter and it would still be a problem as far as ground clearance.

chambered mufflers are so loud you have no idea! love the sound of all the little back fires when you put it to the floor.
So, is there a way to run dual pipes without going all the way to the back, and not having it deafeningly loud? Even if it dumps like midway of my car hatwoud be easier then going all the way to the back.

warlocks are not the thinnest.. spintechs are.
why a dual exhaust if you're not doing it for power?

in anycase, anything dumping under the car will be alot louder then it pointing away... it will vibrate the floor and you will feel it in the whole car.
for duals, i would run long tubes, and tuck up like most Y pipes do, then instead of them Y-ing together, id just have them run parallel.. *shrug*
you major prob is the shape of the floorpan... if you try to go under it at the wrong points, its just too low.

i have hooker long tubes and theres no way to make the exuast exit right after the front wheels. if u look at my car u can see the end of the collectors and how it would be hard to put a muffler under there and have it exit after the front wheels.

about running them out just behind the front wheels, it can be done, just not with long tubes, u'd have to go shorties, and be a masterful pipe bender and a damn good welder to make it work.

yes you can run longtubes and run an exhaust to the rear axle and not have it deafeningly loud and....still have it cheap, if you know how to weld. my whole exhaust cost me $160 and its 3"
