I got it from Entech. 801-265-0994 ask for Ken thats who I was reffered to from everyone on here. Just tell him you want the 4th gen rear section. It only came to $300 shipped I thought that was a very good price. He will tell you prob around 3 weeks till you get it but mine only took week and half. Went on very easy and the hanger was all in right places

If it is just the rear section did you re-use the stock I-pipe or do you have another 3" one from a previous cat back.

Its not just the rear section its 3in I pipe as well, but you have to tell them you want the 4th gen rear with the third gen I pipe. He will know what you mean trust me.

yes you order the 3rd gen kit from entec and have them replace the muffler section with the 4th gen muffler section and voila!..a very unique and killer sounding cat back system..Maybe they made a change a Banks, because on mine i did move the hanger over a bit...no big deal, but if yours went on with no mod necessary then that is great!...

Hey guys - sounds like a nicely put together system. So, what's it sould like? A sound clip would be great. But, just about everyone know what Flows sound like, how does the Banks system compare to Flowmaster? I just picked Flows because it seemed to me the easiest to copmare to.

I went with the Banks system b/c it was somethnig different. I never personally heard it before so once my motor gets back in that will be the first for me. I just went on what everyone has been saying about it. I have yet to read a neg comment on it. It's also cheaper then the Flowmaster

anyone have a soundclip of the banks system? I am debating on getting the hooker catback or banks catback and would like some input on which one sounds better and is an overall better product.

When I bought my car last August, it had a rather new exhaust system in it from the get-go. It appears to have a 3-inch cat-back/exhaust pipe in place already.
My question is this - if when you all order the Banks system you ask for the 3-rd gen exhaust pipe but the 4th gen tail section, could I just get the 4gen tail section since I already have a new, 3" main exhaust pipe in place?? Maybe I should just ask the Banks folks......But what do you all think? I just want to know if the 4th gen rear end will bolt up with my tail pipe.....
EDIT - an afterthought question - are they no longer making the 2OTL system?? I kinda like it ;-)
EDIT TAKE 2 - called Entec (don't know who I talked to but the guy was great!) and I answered my own ? - they DO still make the dual exit on drivers side. I only brought it up because I'm not sure if I like the oval tips - the rear end of these cars have so many square features that I'm just not sure. Need pics of the rear end from directly behind the car. I gotta think about it more but some pics from further behind sure would help.... But then the 2OTL is round tips too.........

yes they still offer the 2 on the left exits, that is the standard system. You can probably just order the muffler section with those outlets on it and it will work fine.Only if you order the 4th get exits do you need to make sure you have the correct i-pipe and over axle pipe to go with it

No sound clip yet either - but no big hurry either.
So, this Banks system - I am really encouraged by the "you can't go wrong with this system" and "nice and doclie" around town and "have yet to read a negative comment" comments - it's not often that an aftermarket item hase this much support. That alone has me just about ready to buy one up.
BUT ........ I just want to know that there is something out there louder (yes, aside from no muffler at all). I want an improvement over my stock stuff but I don't want to be the loudest, most obnoxious Camaro around my area either. If people look because it's hurting their ears - forget it. Now, if they're looking, as I do, when I hear a really nice, deep throaty and muscular sounding exhaust - I'm all over that.
I just don't want obnoxious - that is my biggest worry. What subzero said about being a "refined" system - that's what I like to hear.

It has a awesome sound at idle and cruise and will get downright NASTY when you get your foot into it.It will turn heads, but in a good way!...Not the pissed off look we give all the ricers out there.get it!..you will not be dissapointed with the sound of performance

Hey sub
Thanks for the sound cilp - finally one long enough to really characterize an exhaust system!!! Really apprecitate it.
The idle and lower rpm range is KILLER - hands down, the best I've heard. Now, please please do not take this as an insult or anything personal at all - just throwing my impressions out there after hearing the clip; I'm mostly asking another question anyway. To me from the clip, the upper rpms sound too blatty --- what I mean is this: we all have heard a early to mid nineties Pontiac Grand Prix, Grand Am or even the occasional Bonneville and other GM mid-sized sedans that have this (to me anyway) horrible sounding blatty obnoxious exhaust sound under heavy acceleration that just sounds like crapola - they almost have a knocking sound to them. I recall hearing them more in the late nineties and now-a-days I don't hear so many. Unfortunately, I think this Banks system has a bit of this characteristic at higher rpm - at least from the clip.
My question is how did you get the clip? Maybe the recording makes it sound blatty-er than it really is. I still can't get over that killer low rpm and idle sound though - SICK!!!!
Tell me what you think man - right now I'm sitting here with on one hand a great lower rpm sound and in the other a (again, to me) somewhat obnoxious high rpm sound reminiscent of those older GM 6's with the crappy, raspy, blatty and obnoxious exhausts. Maybe it was more the recording..........

Subzero, Thanks for the soundclip too. I would like to know what kind of motor and add-ons did that car have that the banks system is on in the sound clip?

it is a stock 350 TPI with no other add ons besides an air intake kit at the time the clip was recorded.of course sound is subjective and I could see how it could be characterized as a bit Raspy up into the higher RPM's,but to me it just sounds plain wicked. That was about the best recording I have and personally since i have had it for a long time it has gotten more deeper sounding higher up than it was at the time that was recorded IMO....I just love the sound it makes

I ordered my Banks system ordered last Friday afternoon and Ken from www.enginetechandfab.com (866)640-0994 called me this morning (Monday) saying that Banks is supposed to ship it in 3 days.
Looks I picked the right time to place my order.
Ken was great person to deal with, no problems at all.
I am anxious to get it so I am glad that I did not have to wait 3 weeks!

is there any chance you can post pictures of the setup, including down the holes in the muffler, and/or describe what's in the muffler?
before and after sound clips would be a big layer of icing on the cake!

Here's a sound clip from novass's car (305 TPI w/ Hooker 2055 headers). Sounds great if you ask me.
I'm going to be buying this catback as soon as I get the money.

Banks system. I did not know that the tailpipes were welded on. The box also contained a warranty card, instruction manual and two "Banks Power" stickers. Three 3" clamps and two 2 1/2" clamps as well as bolts, washers and self locking nuts. As expected the bracket on the drivers side did not match up. I simply relocated the hanger on the car itself rather than pay someone to modify the exhaust. Install went very smooth. About 45 minutes start to finish. I used a Sawzall to cut the old intermediate pipe. I like the sound. IMO, a nice deep rumble to it. It is louder than than the stock system when the car was new. Quieter than my rusted out stock system but the tone is different enough (deeper) so that it is more noticible, not a problem though, over the radio. I had holes in both tailpipes, muffler and the intermediate pipe. Pinholes in the top of the intermediate pipe where it goes over axle and large holes near passenger side bracket. As I had hoped the engine temperature dropped after replacing the muffler because of restriction from the old muffler as the baffles in the old muffler had broken free and blocked the outlet(s).
I am happy with the Banks Catback system and I would not hesitate to buy again. IMO, I got the most bang for my buck that is currently available. Stainless and under $300 shipped directly from Banks in California to my front door in Washington State.
I am very glad I called [(866)640-0994] Ken at http://www.enginetechandfab.com and I do not mind giving them a plug as I am very impressed with the service I received. Ken was friendly and very helpful. The only way he could have been more helpful is if he would have helped with the install.

Inside of muffler inlet. I could see no signs of fiberglass or stainless steel packing. I am not saying that it is not there just that I could not see it.

thanks for posting the pics!
quick question...
if you've ever heard a stock L98 with a flowmaster 80 series (the crossflow one) on it ... would you say that this system is louder or quieter than that, at idle and full throttle?

EDIT: If there is anyone in the Olympia WA area with a Flowmaster I would be glad to meet with them so we could compare.
